Watch Cineb. A fascinating portrait of the world’s first professional league transgender football referee, who finds herself at personal and professional crossroads. Sapir Berman has worked hard to become a well-respected Israeli professional football league referee. But she also wants to be a woman. With intimate access to her life on and off the pitch, Liran Atzmor’s film follows Sapir as she juggles the challenges of hormone therapy treatment and gender reassignment surgery, with a demanding fitness regime that keeps her in the front rank of professional football referees. Her determination to continue pursuing her dreams, both on and off the field – never losing the charisma and drive that makes her such a compelling figure – makes this documentary a captivating experience; a sensitive profile of an individual living their life on their terms.
